Diff Noise?! Again?!?!

Diff Noise?! Again?!?!
Ok, so you may remember that i posted about my previous diff making all kinds of noises, that eventually blew up...
I have replaced that diff with a used one with 25000miles on it. Now i get a new noise from the new diff and i would like for someone to clear this up for me.
1)I am getting a very slight "roaring" noise when i'm at a steady speed or slightly accelerating, if i accelerate more, it goes away, if i let go of the gas it goes away again. Only noticable at higher gears in low rpms.
2)I am also getting a high pitched supercharger like sound at 2.8k-3.2k RPMS when accelerating
I have not driven another S2k in order to compare, that is why i'm coming here for help, i really really need some help guys... any help is greatly appreciated.
P.S. The diff has not been abused at all. Rarely doing hard accelerations.
-Dont forget to have an awesome day

the bearings may be worn.
any vibration issues?
if no vibration, i'd probably put thicker 190w gear oil and keep my fingers crossed. doesn't sound like you want to open it up and rebuild.

Change the diff oil and send a sample to Blackstone Labs. They should be able to help spot abnormal wear.
I assume you're NOT using Honda Differential Oil which is for FWD cars, not the S2000.

Use an SAE 90 viscosity hypoid gear
oil, API service classified GL5 or
GL6 only.

Anyone have a video of just normal driving of a healthy s2k and all the noises they make?

We've no idea what country you're in nor why your mechanic is intent on killing S2000 differentials.
There's enough evidence in this forum that "Genuine Honda differential oil" will kill your differential, it's designed for front wheel drive cars. We had another one burned up here in the past month. Destroyed with this stuff.
As noted two posts earlier the car requires SAE-90 GL-5 or GL-6 hypoid gear oil. This is not Genuine Honda differential oil." The quote is out of my owner's manual and yours no doubt says the same thing. There has been some discussion here that the SAE-90 spec has changed since our cars were new so a heaver weight hypoid gear oil (there's that pesky term again!) is recommended. Try the one on the right.

unless something has changed, there is no genuine honda diff oil for the s2000. this may be very confusing for some people, but it is what it is.
the genuine honda diff oil is not intended for the s2000 and will ruin the s2000 diff.
time to get that oil out of your diff and put 90w (or higher).
I'm running 190w for extra protection since i've had some diff damage from the pinion nut coming loose. it's whining but it's not vibrating and so far so good.
