Default Is something wrong with my s2k? Need some help please!!

I was driving my s2000 today and noticed some odd sounds. They might not be any serious problems, but I want to know what they are. First, I have what sounds like an engine whistle accelerating and decelerating all the way up and down through the rpm's. I did a search, but didn't turn up any useful information. Also, when shifting into 2nd (upshift or downshift) at low rpm's, it sounds like there is a clunking or a rattle in the rear end. When I am in 2nd and at low rpm's and just punch the gas real quick, I here the same clunking noise. Unfortunately I a not mechanically inclined so I do not have any idea what these noises are. Somebody please help me!!! Any responses would be greatly appreciated! If you do not want to post it, please e-mail me jason.salvador@villanova.edu

Some non-technical possibilites are a loose tool kit or spare tire. If it is "normal" is probably is the rear end. The Torsen II traction-sensing differential makes all sorts of odd noises.

Thank you for the replies! The spare and tools have been removed and there is noting else in the trunk....it definitely sounds like it's coming from under the car.

I've heard them both. don't worry, it's normal. I don't know what the whistle is but the "clunk" is the LSD.

i dont know if i have the same problem with you. i had some sounds comming from underneath the car. i brought it to the dealer and they just tighten some bolts the guy said.
the clunking noise is very odd. evertime i step on the gas and the car rocks back and forth, i hear them. it sounds like metal to metal type.

my car makes that sound when i'm in reverse. when i'm backing up and i hit the clutch.. the back shakes like its comming from the diff. The way I see it the car has warranty, as soon as it breaks, i'm knocking on the dealers door.
