I am in the process of changing out the bearings and hubs on all 4 corners of my S. I am using a Harbor Freight 12 ton shop press and as I got to the last spindle/knuckle, the Passenger Front, the bearing was very difficult to press out. I had the knuckle correctly aligned with the press but it still took so much force I was afraid the press was going to fail catastrophically. After I was able to press it out I noticed there was damage to the inside wall of spindle/knuckle where the bearing slides in. The metal is deformed/marred and you can feel it easily. The other 3 spindle/knuckle bearing walls were in pristine condition after removing the old bearings. The bearing I pressed out had also clearly failed or was leaking because grease was everywhere.
My question is this: does this damage prevent me from reusing the knuckle? I mainly use the car for HPDE. Should I replace it with new or can I reuse with the damage and what are the risks. I have no doubt I'll be able to press the new bearing in but I don't know what the consequences might be. This car was repaired from salvage by the previous owner and many of the front driver suspension components were replaced because of a high speed impact with something, possible a curb. Perhaps this was also damaged in that event. Please see the pictures below:
