Squeaky brakes in reverse?
My brakes make squeaky sounds when I go down my drive way (large slope downward) in reverse. It doesn't make any sounds braking normally foward on the street.
Any ideas? Is this normal or are my brakes due for replacement?
Car is a 2000 with 19,000 miles on it.

Best thing is to take the wheels off and look at the thickness of the friction material. There is a minimum thickness that is acceptable (1.6 mm). Going in reverse can sometimes make a noise simply because the pads are mostly worn in going frontwards. You may also have some debris that got in and it only rubs just so to produce the noise going backwards.
The other issue you may have is overnight rust build up on the rotors. if the car sits outside, normal condensation/dew will cause the surface of the rotor to rust. At your 1st application of the brakes, they squeak.
It's still best to check the lining thickness. Most street driven S's don't wear out brake pads in 19k miles.
