Default Squeaky Clutch

Anyone else experianced this? When I press on the clutch, engine on or off, I hear a squeak from under the car. This only happens when engaging the clutch... Any ideas or know how I can fix it? It has just started within the past week.

It could be the plunger on the master or slave cylinder. It could be the release fork or the throw out bearing. Not much you can do for the first two except maybe try a fluid bleed. You can try to greas the release fork. Doing anything about the T.O. bearing is major work.

I had a similar problem, and it sounded like it was under the car. But it turned out to be the pedal haha. A little white lithium grease and no squeakie squeakie.

Why would we PM you after you were kind enough to jack the thread? The least you could do is come back here to look. It doesn't take any extra mouse clicks.

Mulder...I would say the best thing to try would be:

Remove the slave cyl, leave the line connected. You can pull the fork out about 2 inches and reveal the pivot shaft. Use a small brush and hit it with some grease.

Now...before re-installing the slave, take a look at the ball end. If it has a little nub sticking off it, gring it smooth. Put some very heavy grease on the end of the ball, an re-assemble.

BE VERY CARFUL and make sure the ball end seats itself in the ball shaped pocket in the fork. You can look through the little windows in the boot to be sure you're in.
