Default Squeeky Belt Means Pulley?

Im getting some noise from my tensioner belt, I checked the auto tensioner , and it has proper torque so i dont think it needs to be replaced, but when i had the belt off, the pulley had side to side play.

Do i need to remove the tensioner from its bracket to undo the pulley bolt? The shop manual says its "left hand threaded" which i assume means reverse threaded.

For the time being i sprayed some silicone on it and the noise has gone, but it needs to be dealt with.

They want you to remove the whole tensioner so you can secure it in a vise before you turn the pulley bolt. Doing it on the car may crank the tensioner to its extreme and damage it. It's only a couple of bolts to remove the whole thing anyway.

I don't think so. The recommended way is to replace the pulley. Since it no longer makes a noise after you sprayed it, you should just leave it till the noise comes back. Letting the pulley continue to function as is won't hurt anything. If the noise never comes back, you shouldn't ever worry about it. Just make sure the thing turns and doesn't seize up.

it turns freely and continious to turn for a while after giving it a quick spin. but i it seems as if it could sit tighter or somthing?? ie: the bearings as it spins is not 100% smooth (sort of like if you used wd-40 to clean rollerblade bearings, it spins freely but seems like the thick oil was replaced with thinner fluid).

Also the side to side play may or may not be allowable, but i think im gonna replace it, i got the car 2nd hand and dont know too much history.

If it brings you piece of mind, why not. Do it.
