Ok might try that out. What's the negative with that weight oil? Not really familiar with oil differences. I'm moving back up to ny where it is cold if that matters.
well Honda actually recommends 5w40 if you live in a colder region (see the owner's manual for the info), so it will work fine in NY, I'm about 10 hours northwest of NYC and it works great up here. For summer use it will work equally well with a bit more viscosity than a 30 weight in hot conditions. I would certainly try it if you are running boost. You should see higher oil pressure with it, and what I like best is that the engine is super quiet at idle, and very smooth. I'm using Amsoil's 5w40, which is full synthetic, great for year round use.

So what are the negatives if any with using it? Higher oil consumption or anything?
Less protection?

According to the manual they should not open below 28 psi.
The manual also specs the min oil pressure at idle being 36 psi.
Your 16 psi seems low but there are posts by knowledgable people saying around 20 psi at idle is normal.
The oil warning light triggers at a much lower psi so you can't go by that.

If one takes the manual specs one could conclude the oil jets are closed at idle.

What oil are you using?
Shear Down Dino?

How many miles on the engine?
Is the gauge correct?
Did it come with any kind of certification / calibration report?
Where do you take the pressure?

my oil pressure gauge reads 20psi at Operating temp, and around 85-90 at cruising.
