Starter makes a noise on cold start

Cold start starter screech in cold weather is normal, you can take apart the starter and grease the gears if you want. Car starts high idle then lowers until it dies isn't normal, are you stock?

i get that as well when its colder... i noticed it happening a lot when i go backpacking in the sierras after parking my car their for a weekend ~7000-8000 feet. Yes i take my car camping

All stock except a k&n fipk. It's been happening every morning. I start it, makes that screech noise and goes up to 2k rpm and then drops down until it dies.I try again and it screeches and then idles at 2k rpm for about 30 seconds and then goes up to 2.5k for a few seconds then drops back down to 2k and then does its normal warm-up routine. No cel.
