Default Starter motor replacement

OK, has anyone replaced the starter motor on a left hand drive 2000 S2000?

I just spent the better part of three hours following the manual and removing the belt, tensioner, alternator and the intake tray and there I am. The next step in the manual is to remove the starter. There is no way I can get to any part of the starter as things set now. I can't even see the starter from above. On the lift I can see a piece of the solenoid and the bottom bolt but there is no way it's going to come down from above.

I'm beginning to think the manual applies to a right hand drive car only.

There has to be a trick in here! Anyone know the rate that Honda charges to replace a starter!

Thanks for any tips.

Thanks for the tip about the FAQ. I could swear that I looked around and didn't find anything before I started this.

Well, I read the FAQ and looked at the car and anyone who got that starter out from below must work as the rubber jointed man in the circus. I guess I give it another go later on in the week.

Thanks again.

You need a long socket extension and flex sockets to reach the bolts.
