It looks like the car sat for a very long time, to get that rust onto the cams. I'm going with bad gas, as the main cause of your problems. I really never heard of OEM S2000 fuel pumps giving out, under normal circumstances.

You prolly should drain the remaining gas out of the tank and clean out the lines & filters.

Good luck!

Rust on cams is common with cars that have catch can fitted, but not drained for winter storage. In short time (single winter storage), cams get nasty rust.

He should prolly change the oil and oil filter, too.

Hi all,

Posting an update here. We managed to resolve the issue. Although the lack of coil lead gasket/seals was problematic, it was not causing the issue. The underlying problem was that the clip holding the hose-pipe between the fuel pump and the fuel filter snapped and gas was not flowing with ample pressure. Replacing this clip resolved the problem. Needless to say, the car had a full service while at the mechanic, replaced every single drop of oil, filters, etcetera, because the previous owner was clearly very negligent.

While resolving the fuel pump issue, we discovered that the fuel tank is rusted... probably rusted beyond saving.... so I am going to try to purchase a new fuel tank but can't seem to find any under part number 17500-S2A-932.

Glad you fixed in, and that you came back to tell us what it was.

Should be easy enough to find a used tank in good condition.

air spark fuel, check all 3, if you're ruling out fuel then go to the other 2

Why did you change the fuel injectors? Was there a problem before?
