Default Steering torque sensor removal

Hi all

I have a 2k2 that's having the dreaded steering vibration and pulls the to the right on cold starts. I read that I should try cleaning and regreasing the steering torque sensor. I got it loose but can't get it completely out. What am I doing wrong? Any tips or tricks to get it out? Pic below

A number of threads on just this. Cleaning will solve the problem. There are some good does and don'ts.

Good luck!

You loosen both bolts on the steering coupler?

Also if your t25 doesn't work on the security bolts you can use vice grip pliers.

I made a thread called "torque sensor guts" it shows you the slip ring aka beige piece, that has to move smoothly. Use a polyurea grease since it's compatible with plastics and metals.

You talking about these 2 right? I took them out already. Been trying to wiggle it out but no dice.

Billman says the rack spring can cause it to bind when trying to install it. Perhaps it does it when you try to remove it as well?

Put light pressure under the driver side tie rod with a jack. Right where the 19mm lock nut is.
