Default Steering wheel alignment

So I got my new[er] wheel installed and it was a few degrees to the right, so I marked it with a sharpie and moved it exactly one spline to the left...now it's a few degrees off to the left How do I get it to TDC?

A new alignment is probably your only option.

You can adjust the tie rods and fix it.

If your steering wheel is off to the left.. that means your car will go right when the wheel is actually straight. Adjust both tie rods to pull the wheels to left.

Half a turn will probably be enough. Just make sure you turn both ends the same amount so your alignment isnt off. Also be aware it will turn to the end of the ball joints movement range before it starts to thread in.

Same exact thing happened to me. I think the only thing we can do is get an alignment.

Make sure to put the steering wheel back in the old (wrong) position before alignment.

I'm pretty sure you turned it more than one spline. Once you get the wheel off the splines it is easy to turn it a bit too far. I'd try to adjust it back in the other direction. I've been messing with mine for a long time as I forgot to mark my steering shaft when I removed the engine/tranny in 2012. I finally got it adjusted into the right position last week , after lots of small adjustments to the wheel position.
