Try a hand held blow dryer first....if that doesn't work, buy some "Goof off".It will remove the decal & the sticky residue underneath.

This is the best start. If you have a regular heat gun (for heat shrink wrap, tubing or coverings) that is the better way to go but a hairdryer is a good backup. The decal has a coating of mylar or PVC on top of the adhesive so an application of chemicals (goof off-WD-40) won't work at this point. Heat the thing up so its nice and warm, you may have to CAREFULLY lift an edge using something sharp and as you slowly pull up, apply heat. If there is any residue, now is the time to use goof off or Nature's Orange or something stronger.

I'm spoiled and get to use product from my dads shop.

RM-900 works amazingly. Used it to remove the adhesive/residue that was left when I removed door handle protector films.

It's expensive, but it works great for cleaning off residue and other junk, like road tar.
