stock s2000 tall gears?
Hey guys- had the car for a whoppin two days- I used to have a type S and had to row through the gears until 4th gear during WOT- with my S- it seems like each gear takes a while. Wasnt the vtec rush i thought- now not being ignorant I am sure the gears are wuite a bit taller- anyone else had the same feeling? Sorry over paranoid new owner of a used S2000. Thanks!
Final drive on the S2000 is 4.10. Gear limited top speed is something like 173 I believe. Not sure how that compares to the Type S though.
Check out Rick's 4.56 gears, sure to put a grin on your face!

you mean you can't feel the VTEC kick at switchover?
It doesn't help in that you're driving a S2000 because the VTEC is smooth, it's not like on a ITR where you can hear and feel the change. The S2000 is smooth that way so maybe you feel is less.
Check your speedo though, I remember first getting the car and although I didn't feel like I was going that fast the speedo said something else. I was pulled by the cops on the first night I got it.

my girl has a stock type S and I have a stock Ap1.
I drive both...I can definately feel the vtec kick harder on the s2000, but hear it more on the type S.
Take the lid off the air box on s2000, maybe the sound will trick your mind.
my girl given a good 6 cars on the highway I caught her in no time in the s2000 and she can drive.
this was with less than 100 psi compression in 1 cylinder with an 1/8th inch gash in the wall, 3 cracked pistons and silicone clogging the oil pump.
Yeah, the motor is being rebuilt right now, idiot I bought it from ...
