Stock security system question
I have a 2002 S2000 with the stock security system which just locks and unlocks the doors. I would like to know if there is a way to set the car to auto lock the doors when you get out instead of having to do it manually with the key remote each time. I am worried that I will forget to push the lock sometime.
Any Ideas?
Thanks
Jay

mine does that already. i don't know how to control it, but sometimes it does it, and sometimes it doesn't.
i would like to know though, if you ever figure it out
BTW: i haven't searched for it, but i'm sure it's out there.

I thought this was a basic alarm that if you locked the doors and then they were opened it would at least honk the horn, but I just tried it and the horn doesn't even honk I guess I need to get an alarm. The only protection is the imobolizer in the key.
Jay,
Yes it is possible. The Control Unit (under driver's seat) has a "Mode" switch. Set it to the "Auto" or "Auto Lock" position. Your Manual will explain the differnce between the two.
To get at the Control Unit, just unbolt the seat and tip it back. Best to remove the Front Bolts first, slide the seat forward and get the Rear Bolts. Then the seat will tip back further.
The switch is on one of the back corners. If you do not see the switch, they mounted the Control Unit upside down and you will have to unbolt the Bracket.

I had a friend who used this feature (different vehicle) and would lock herself out occassionally (her's locked with key in ignition). If you forget to lock your car, wouldn't you be liable to forget your keys too?
Not a flame post, just wondering.......
