Default Auto Locking Doors

Does anyone have a problem with the doors locking automatically after a period of time. It happened to me with my keys inside, luckily I was at home and had my spare. I know I should get in the habit of putting my keys in my pocket when I get out but I was doing something in the trunk and it happened. I just don't want it to happen when I'm out of town somewhere.

Its your security system doing it. the box is mounted to the bottom of your drivers seat. there are two switches, one is siren/horn, the other is arming mode. Your arming mode is on "auto lock", you can switch it to "auto" and have the same functionality minus the auto locking or manual which means the alarm will only arm when you press the lock on your fob.

Alarm system? This is an aftermarket (dealer) unit?

In the standard system the doors lock 30 seconds after the remote un-lock button is pressed if a door is not opened in that time period. Mine has locked itself in my garage this way but I've always had the keys in my pocket.

I hate how it does that. I unlocked the doors, I want them unlocked.

I'm super paranoid about locking keys in the trunk. Say you return to car, unlock doors, unlock trunk, lots of stuff in your hands, its warm, so you also take off jacket and put in the trunk. Except you forgot you put the keys in jacket pocket. Close trunk, oops. No biggie, you unlocked the doors. Except they locked themselves!

Never happened to me, never want it to. Too many ways this could happen. Whenever I unlock trunk, I open door before I close trunk.

I say every 6 months or so I find my S2000 locked, yet I leave it unlocked in my garage 24/7. I never lock my S2000 when it is home, and I mean never. I've noticed it doing this since I owned the car, I have no idea how it happens but it does. I don't have any alarm system on my car, no aftermarket and no OEM. I am aware of the re-lock function if you don't open the door but my car locks itself from a fully unlocked position. I think it's picking up a radio wave from the houses of my neighbours ?

IMO, its either ghosts or aliens one or the other. If I was you I'd contact a priest, they'll point you in the right direction.

That is one plausible explanation , lol.

In the winter my Christmas lights turn off every time my neighbours come home and open their garage door, I think my S2000 is affected the same way somehow

Maybe something bumps your keys and accidentally hits the lock button? Note that even if the doors are unlocked, if use fob to unlock them, even though they are already unlocked, they will lock in 30 sec if you don't open a door. So if something bumps unlock button, end result same, doors will become locked.

Thanks, that could be a possibility too, difficult to determine but certainly possible.
