In addition to warming up the engine, one sould also make sure that the transmission and differential are up to temp before running the car hard. The tires need to be warmed too, especially on AP1's with S02's.

The best way to warm up the car isn't letting it idle for ten minute, i see too many people just beat the piss out of their car right after the sitting still warm up, the brake, tires, transmission, diff is still pretty much cold.
the best way to warm up a car is to drive the car with light load(no, not lightload as towing something, light load as easy on gas and brake)

It's fair to say that this limiter separates the people who own an S for love of the car and those that own it because they could afford it and didn't want a Miata.
Suffice to say if you ever hit that limiter, you shouldn't own this car.
