Default Strange idle issue?

Hey Guys,

I have a 35k 05 AP2. When I am in neutral and idle, and then slightly rev the engine (this also happens when coming to a stop in neutral or in gear) my revs suddenly drops slightly and car shudders a bit (as if im about to stall out). This happens when the clutch is depressed and engaged.

Here is a video (happens right at the beginning). I revved it slightly to instigate the "issue"

Any idea what may be causing this? Thanks for your help!

I think it's just the ecu in the process of re-learning. You should do an idle learn and see if it happens after that.
Remove the ecu fuse for a minute, put it back in, then keep it at 3000 rpm until the fan starts to blow (with everything off, lights, radio etc). Then, leave it idling for about 20 minutes.

5000 rpm then let it idle. have you done any of other DIY trouble shooting for this issue?

This is very common, especially when the weather is warmer.

Hey guys. thanks for the tips. I plan on cleaning out the IAC this weekend and then resetting the ECU. The issue pops up as soon as I come to a stop in neutral.

Iamxpl, do you mean after I reset the ECU, hold the throttle at 5000 rpm?

yes. reset the ECU. turn it on hold it at 5k till fans turn on. then once fans turn on let it idle for a few mins. that should help it relearn.

Hey Guys, got an update:

I cleaned out the IAC (not that sludgy, but still a good amount) and reset the ECU, and per your instructions, it works! Extremely minimal to no shuddering when I come to a stop, and the acceleration does feel more crisp and responsive!

Now I may need to replace the TCT now.. (sounds a bit clacky)

Thanks guys!

Glad it's solved
Remember, when the rpm dips, don't press the gas pedal to help it. That's how it learns to idle. Happens often when there are temperature spikes (about once autumn/winter/spring/summer in my time zone)
