Default Stuck in second gear.

I have an 03 s2000 with 48k and the clutch was replaced 3k ago. The car was driving fine with no shifting issues, smooth as butter. I got home parked the car and I left in second gear with the e brake up and when I got back into it the next mourning to go to work I could not get it out of second gear. What would cause this? What should I look for?

Clutch is not fully disengaging. Hydraulic issue, MC or slave, or something mechanical that prevents the clutch fork not being pressed.

More times then not, even without using the clutch you can row through the gears when the engine is off, especially taking out of gear. That alone makes me think its not hydraulic related. But go ahead and double check that your master is full of fluid and no signs of weeping. Typically when a master goes it will get wet under the clutch pedal on carpet. If slave cylinder leaking, that would be under the car.

I would take off the E brake, push in the clutch and try starting the engine with it in gear and see if it releases once you unload the car from its current position. If your in a neighborhood or something where you can drive the car, do this and see if you can get it operating again.

This will most likely work.

Or you can try releasing emergency brakes & simply rocking the car. You may have parked on an incline. Gravity is adding force up against the gears in the tranny. Keeping you from going into neutral. Be careful, if it's a steep incline --- as you do not want the car to run over your feet. Or worse.

Alright, let the car get a little warm and as soon and I moved the car a few feet it popped right out effortlessly.
