If it is a Comptech supercharger, ~6 PSI is the norm for peak boost. Mine was making about 6.1 PSI at 8750 RPMs before I changed out the pulley.

Sounds normal for a comptech supercharged car....

Superchargers increase boost with RPM. It's not a turbocharger.

you post is a little unclear...

if you are making 6 lbs at 8000 rp, you do not have a stock pulley, that is more in the area of a 4.25 SC pulley according to the various data captures we have done.

if you are expecting peak boost at all RPM when at WOT, you are thinking more along the lines of how a turbocharger provides boost.

the comptech is a centrifugal unit that delivers boost along a linear path, stating from almost no boost up to its maximum power.

with my stock pulley on the dyno last year i recorded the following datapoints...

RPM lbs boost
3200 0.767
3500 0.82
4000 1.22
4500 1.45
5000 1.63
5500 1.9
6000 2.54
6500 2.9
7000 3.47
7500 4.07
8000 4.6
8500 5.12
9000 5.9

2psi??? That's like 10% gain, after parasitic losses. And that's assuming no adiabatic inefficiency (which is clearly a very optimistic assumption)

Why would you bother, if that was normal? Even at 6psi, you're getting less than 40% gain.

EDIT: Wasn't the Ultimate Racing Turbo about $4000 uninstalled? For the little extra money, wouldn't you want a kit that's boosting at 7psi by 4000rpm and can sustain it until redline?

ultimate racing turbo is as I recall closer to $5500 uninstalled.

vortech (VS. Comptech) is a little more boost hitting about 7.5psi at 9000.

in my opinion the sc kit for the s2000 is not a very good performance upgrade for this vehicle i have always said superchargers are for domestics which produce a lot of tourque,we have tested turbochargers, nitrous, and sc s2000 and the best one has been turbocharged. For the money i rather have a turbo.

This is a very naive statement. How can you possibly argue that a belt driver power adder benefits a large displacement motor more than smaler displacement motors? 50% is 50%. Now, a turbo does change the power curve in a better manner, because it can produce it's max PSI much sooner - and carry that throuh redline. That is no new revolution. Making a general statement that a supercharger is not a very good upgrade for this car, with NO experience driving one, is just dumb. I have a supercharged S2000 and there is not a single local S2000 that looks at me pulling 5-6 lengths on them and says, "Man, that supercharger doesn't help much."
