Default Suspension Problem

Well, I took a look under the car and found that the Passenger front spring still had the rubber shipping insert. I have 3000 miles on the car and noticed it was doing weird things while driving (this is when I found the insert). So, I took it to the dealership and they said they would repair the problem. After two days, they can't get the alignment right and now they are telling me that they are going to have to start replacing components!!! The lower controll arm and shifting the cross member for starters. I bought the car with 81 miles on it so they drove it around before I bought the car...who knows how hard. I am really concerned that the car will never be the same. I am tempted to go the "legal" route and demand a new car because they screwed up on the prep of the vehicle. Any body have some words of Advice ?

Bet it will be fine when they are done. Did you curb it or something? I don't see how the shipping bumper could do this. You may be getting a free repair that isn't supposed to be.

The shipping spacers eliminate movement in the suspension.. that's why the tag on the car warns not to drive the car until they are removed. I think there are a number of slightly bent suspensions (including mine) out there because of this and it is totally believable that a few have more serious damage. This has been a real fiasco showing poor quality work by dealers and they have skated on most of the problems.

It is good you have someone willing to make it right. You can look at the lemon laws in your state if it takes too long to fix, but since you have them working on it you are way ahead of most of us that drove with spacers.

The bent parts are the Lower control arm, thisis what i have been told, as well as one of the screws that allow for caster adjustment.
