Default Swapping 05 motor into 06 - Intake manifold

Hi all,

My 06 blew up and I found an 05 to swap in. After some research I found I need to swap these parts:
  1. Oil Pan
  2. Valve Cover
  3. Intake Manifold + TB
  4. Swap all sensors
  5. 06 Intake Trigger Wheel
  6. 06 Exhaust Trigger Wheel
  7. 06 Timing chain cover + Crank position sensor
  8. 06 Trigger crank wheel
Almost done with the swap but I question the 06 intake manifold. On the 05, I know that it is designed for the air injection system and the 05 intake manifold has a port for it. My 06 intake manifold also has a port for it, but doesn't block off the flow from the 05 air injection. Do I need to block this off somehow?

Cheers!

Oil pan is the same

Re air injection. on the exhaust side, above the header , tap the air injection ports and plug them

You don't need to change the intake cam trigger wheel, 06+ only got one sensor and its on the exhaust side.
Timing chain cover is also the same, just need to change crank sensor and trigger wheel.

Got it. I kept the 05 case cover. But my issue now is the exhaust ports.

I like the idea of tapping the ports with a 1/4 20 screw but I dont want to remove the head to do that. Yes I know I don't have to remove it but I don't want metal bits getting into the engine. Are there other ways to do this? Tap the intake manifold port where the injection device would have sat on the 05?

Yes probably easiest to plug up the intake manifold if you haven't installed that yet.
