Default TCT replacing + chain and guides?

Hi, I recently had my valve clearances adjusted after thinking that was the tapping. Ends up being that it's apparently the TCT, I've been told I can just change the TCT and it'll be fine but also been told it's best too change the chain and guides aswell? I believe it's a fair bit more work changing ye chain and guides but pretty simple to just change the TCT so if I can do that then I will. Car is just about to hit 80,000.

Any help appreciated

I rebuild TCT's for very cheap. Did you still need this fixed?

Don't waste your time and money changing the internal parts, chain and guide. Replace these when (if) you ever need to rebuild the motor. Its the tensioner that causes the noise.

Unless you drove it a long time with bad tensioner, your chain and guide should be fine.
