From my understanding the '04 standard temp sets at 7 bars compared to pre-04 at 3 bars. When I had my '02, the temp bars never went beyond 3 bars no matter how often vtec'd or redlined.

Last Saturday I installed the Comptech CAI last Saturday on my '04 and everything seemed normal (except for the added perks of course). Today, I noticed a difference in the bar count. It now has raised a bar under normal conditions equaling 8 bars. I was wondering if anyone else had this happen to them as well? or any ideas what may be the cause? It only caught my attention today and I'm pretty sure it wasn't like that throughout the past week. Your help is much appreciated!

one of hte CO's had told me it was 7 bars. Is this info in the owners manual?

and oh when I got the car 3 weeks ago I remember having counted only 7 bars... maybe i'm going blind

 

The difference of one bar in an '04 is what, only a few degrees. It's nothing to get too worked up about.

 

my normal is about 8 bars could be 7 i just look at it and it looks ok, only at 3 when warming up.

8 is normal... they're just kind of confusing. The way they show up on there, they're kind of hard to count
