Default Tension Indicator on Accessory Belt?

I was initially confused by the indicator. It's got a big raised rectangular profile, with a smaller rectangle recessed on one side. The owner's manual says to use the recessed region, but doesn't label the feature in the picture.

So I figured out that the smaller, narrow, rectangle is where the indicator should be pointing. At least that's where mine is. What is the larger rectangle for, a "yellow" zone?

Are we supposed to consider that the accessory belt is "good" as long as it is within the smaller rectangle, and time to replace if it wanders out of it?

There is no replacement interval...
