Test pipes and Emissions Testing

You may or may not pass depending on the emissions testing procedure in your area. Keep in mind that removing your converter is a Federal offense. If you do get caught without it, failing emissions will be the least of your worries. I'd swap it out for your cat just to be on the safe side. Just my $.02.

What was the final verdict on if they dont check under your car and just do the smog test...will you pass as long as you dont have a CEL? Thanks!

For your emissions test, do they not put a sniffer up the tailpipe? Without a cat, the tailpipe emissions would read too high, no?

Without a convertor, you'd be off the scales on acceptable emmisions.

someplaces just use an obd2 scanner if you have it, and dont put on the sniffer.

from what i recall here they just use an OBDII

Well, I dont know if this is worth it for you guys, but if you give the inspector cash under the table, then he'll just pass your car. Not everyone, but alot of them do it. They'll probably charge double or something. But if you really like your test pipe, i guess its worth it, not like you get emissions done very often.
Plus, if htey say no, they say no, and you try another place.

Sorry for the late response. I had to clear a cel the morning before I went and the car gave then some kinda not ready code so I have to go back this week and try again.
