Timing Chain Cover Removal
Hi,
I'm in a bit of a situation. I've cross-threaded cylinder #1 while trying to thread in the new oil jet banjo bolts.
I think I only wound the bolt in about 3mm, but I'm assuming that's enough to warrant rethreading the hole?
As a result, I've decided to remove the oil pump assembly to get at it cleanly.
What do I have to remove to get the oil pump assembly out of the way? I've started taking the timing chain cover off but I don't know how I'm going to remove the oil pump pickup without removing the timing chain.
If anyone could help that would be great.
Thanks!
Braeden

Hi Slow,
I've got the workshop manual. I'm just not sure if I have to remove the timing chain to get the oil pump assembly off.
This would involve removing the cams which I am really not comfortable doing.

Just for anyone else that may be in the same situation down the track, the oil pump can come off without removing the timing chain. You just need to remove the timing cover as per the manual, loosen the oil pump chain guide & tensioner, remove them... move oil pump off the dowels & manouver the chain off.
