Looking my owners manual I could not find the timing chain under teh maintanence intervals. When should it be done? I am planning on heading to the dragon in April and the car has 99,9xx miles on it and don't want to risk it if I should have it done by now. I do drive it hard when I do (weekends only.) I got the car at 75k and in 3 1/2 years only put 24k on it.I know nothing of teh service histry on the car either. I do have a little ticking coming from up top but I think I may need to adujst my valves as well. A new TCT is also in the short list of prep work.

the timing chain does not require maintance unless your TCT is making lots of noise and a sandblasted replacement TCT doesnt fix it either.

I would recommend a valve adjustment as often as you can afford it. I do mine every 30k or sooner.

My 2003 has 170K of it and the mechanic looked at the timing chain today. Said it was perfect. At TDC everything lined up perfectly. And like Sorta he said you'll know it's going bad when you hear noises from it. If it ain't broke don't fix it.
