Default Tires are rubbing, please HELP!

Hello felllow S2K owners, I am a bit new to this forum and a new S2 owner, so please be easy....Thanks

Ok I have a 2" drop on my 01 S2k, and I just put on a new set of 19" 5Zigen 5ZR's that look sweet with a staggered fit.

The front are fine but the rear actually stick out about a 1/4" past the fender....Not Good.....

The rear specs are Rim: 19"X10" TIRE: 265X30 Nitto.

I was wondering if there is any way to get these size wheels to actually fit within the fender and not stick out without too much modification...

I already rolled the fenders, but I am going now to get it done professionally and hopefully it will help... But it still sticks out..

PLEASE......ANY AND ALLLLL ADVISE WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED....

I do not want to have to buy another set of 9.5" for the rear becuase they are 3K+ for the set....

Thanks so much.....

Austin C.

OFFSET! If you had gotten the correct offset you wouldn't be rubbing.

You need at least 73mm offset with a 10" wheel.

The conditions you have stipulated in your quote makes it such that there isn't a whole lot you can do to correct this situation. If you had the money (and you kind of indicated that you don't want to spend any more on new wheels) you could re-design the rear end of your car to give you more room for what equipment you already have.

There is NO "magic pill" here. Although "hindsight" has 20/20 vision, a little forethought and research would have saved you some grief.
Sorry, but there is no easy way to tell you this.

As turbo pwr says, it's all about the offset.

Thanks guys....

XViper,

What kind of rear end "modifications are we talking about?
It is an option I would consider.

If you don't mind explaining what to modify or change to fit these wheels under....

Thanks a lot again....

I'm talking about having a body shop completely re-contour the body over the wheels. They would have to build you new fenders and fender liners. Kinda like rolling the fenders but to the far extreme. Not a cheap option. Would be cheaper to just get wheels with the proper offset.

Oops, see gsp's post below mine. This is along the lines of what I'm talking about.

I almost did a Volk one piece forged 18 X 10 @ 12mm with some big custom fender flares (like a Porsche). But since the fender is plastic along the back side I decided against it.

You could get a custom body shop to cut and weld on new flares. $$$

Alrighty guys,,,,

I really appreciated the responses....

I am in contact with who I bought them from and they are going to eat the cost and have me send them back and get me the proper offset....

So much trouble but they look toooooo sweet to give up....
