The header was just installed, I have not dropped the car from the jacks and driven it yet because I can see the header and the engine mount touching.

Any suggestions?

 

Check that your motor mounts are not worn out. They may look OK at first glance but if they were out your motor will sit lower in the engine bay by at least 3/4". Now if the header is hitting a part of the mount that is hard fastened to the motor then I don't know what to tell you.

 

/\ don't think it's the mount being lower because the header is touching the top of it - if it was higher the header would not even fit...

I neglected to mention that the header is a Toda with the engine mount bracket snapped off - nonethelss I believe that mount is not really needed....

 

Is the header brand new or used?

Maybe the header is bent, that is why the lower engine mount is broke/missing.....just a thought
