I have not driven a semi-auto (SMG 2) in a BMW, so I don't know if it it has that quick snapping gear change and the perfect multi-gear down shift as you come to a corner from speed as the 360. I have heard the launch control work great on it. It is a different kind of fun. I don't think it should replace standard 6-speed as I love running thru the gears in the S!

regarding the 13:1 compression, can you run without tunnig?

or it is like as turbo where you can not use the car until you go to a dyno and tune with a wideband.


since this is my only car I would like to know if I can run it until I go to a dyno.

 

I am pretty certain that fuel management and tuning will have to take place in order for it to run properly...again will be more difficult to tune than FI.
