http://www.modifry.com/products/index.htm

see if this helps.

you can try physically pushing the bar down. lower your top halfway, then push the the bar that is held by the straps down, then lower your top. if this works then you need modifry's straps

not really fixed. it may work one or two times but the straps are worn out and stretched and need to be replaced in order to properly fix the problem.

Straps are stretched. I have to push that bar down each time I lower the top. I've thought about fixing it but the motion of pushing the bar is so routine now I don't even think about it.

Next time you are over here in AZ, just stop by the shop. I can put some new straps on if you are willing to wait in the lounge and drink our Starbucks coffee. Or you can stand by the door and watch. But it is about 110 everyday, so that might not be advisable if you dont like the sun.

Be aware that the bar not retracting causes the top to stretch tightly against the latches. Many a story like this ends with "The top hung up for a second and then I heard a ripping sound. Now I have a torn top".

Get some new straps from Modifry or another source, untill then, move the bar back by hand. Continued testing or forcing the top will likely damage it.
