Top on or off intake on stock s2k?

Default Top on or off intake on stock s2k?

I was just wondering, or what idea can i do to get more air in there?? I saw (like 2 weeks ago), some dude in a meet showed me but i forgot Im getting a K & n filter for the stock air box...

Your stock airbox is actually very well designed. If you leave the lid off, all you'll do is heat the air coming into the engine.

100% true. It does sound a lot better with it off since doesn't have the top to buffer the sound, but you will lose hp.

Its like throwing one of those ceramic heaters in front of the intake, except its way hotter.

if you leave it off the filter will get very dirty.

some people have left the top on, but routed out the 'wall' on the inside. i did. i have no idea if it made a difference or not.

or find a snorkel. i have one on my car and it deff makes a difference. I've taken the snorkel out and driven the car for awhile and then put it back on and you can feel a lil difference. esp in the lowe end part and deff in the high end. you can tell that our engines breath pretty deeply because if you stand n front of the snorkel you can hear it "sucking" in the air. as for taking the airbox cover off. not worth it. sounds good but not worth it.
