Default Torque spec for 04-05 driveshaft bolts (pic)

The 04-05 uses bigger bolts for the driveshaft. Old spec is 24 Ft-Lbs for the smaller bolts....

A bud of mine has an 00-04 manual, but it's an early one, and Honda may have dropped the ball on this one. I find it hard to believe these monster bolts go to only 24 Ft-Lbs...I'll add this to the long list of incorrect crap in the Honda manual...

Anybody got a valid number?

Appreciated

The 2000-2005 specs is unfortunately the same, 24 ft-lbs. This is from the latest greatest manual we have. Sorry to dissapoint .

The 05 info I have says the same. I haven't looked at a 04-05 shaft real close, is it possible to get a torque wrench on the bolt?

It's next to impossible on the 00-03 ones.

Ok I've done some of my own calculating. You can use a torque wrench with a wobble socket.

I recommend 33-35 Ft-lbs of torque on the new bolts.

Slows2k....you'll see what I mean about these monsters

Yup....old bolts on the left, which have 6mm allen head, 8mm shaft, 2 different lengths used in 00-03

New bolts on the right, which have 8mm allen heads, 10mm shaft. One length for both ends of the driveshaft, unlike earlier cars...
