Default Tranny Filler Bolt Help

Today I attempt to snap loose the tranny filler bolt again, yes this is the second time, but I wasn't able to snap it loose. I bench press 200lbs and curl 30lbs and I wasn't able to snap it. How strong do you have to be? Does longer ratchet help? My ratchet is about 7 or 9 inches long. Any idea on how to snap it loose? Please help.

Thanks for the correction nightcrawler7188

you mean raTCHet lol

use a longer ratchet, or attach a pole/breaker bar to the end of it. it shouldn't be that hard.

and yes, if you increase the length of the lever you use to turn the bolt, you will significantly increase the torque you exert on it.

Torque = Force x Length

I put about a 8/9 inch ratchet on it and then swung a breaker bar into the wrench to shock it loose. Much easier that was than doing it with your hands.

or just whack the wrench with a hammer.

It shouldn't be that tough at all to snap the bolt off. I know this is obvious but make sure you're turning it the right away. Counter-clockwise to loosen the bolt.

use another heavy wrench to tap the end of the connected wrench or socket wrench.....it will break free much easier than applying constant force.

I'm getting ready to service mine on my 05. Is it really this hard to break free? Isn't the torque spec only about 30ft/lbs for that bolt?
