Honda MTF works well in a lot of cars. For whatever reason though, there are cars that still seem to break it down quickly. I have an '04 trans in my '03 and it breaks Honda MTF down very quickly in the summer time. Honda MTF is very smooth when it first goes in, but degrades quickly in my car. Amsoil MTF works very well in the summer in my car. Slightly notchy on colder mornings - but very smooth when it

Well when i first bought my are i was the 3rd owner on it and fully stock. Never modded and came with a factory warranty with all service records but noticed that the tranny was never flushed before...
...Anyways I flushed all the fluids and re-filled with new...
I've had good success with the Honda brand tranny fluid too. I am curious how you accomplished the flush. Do you mean drained?

Do they sell Amsoil stuff in local auto stores? Or online orders only?

Whats the difference between SG and MTG?
Amsoil Severe Gear is a GL5 - designed for the diff in our car.
Amsoil MTG is a GL4 - which is brass (yellow metal) friendly - for our transmissions.
AP2 synchros are carbon coated, but there's still brass involved in the synchros - so a GL4 gear oil is still indicated.
At any rate, Amsoil MTF would be the first aftermarket transmission fluid I'd recommend. However, there are some transmissions out there that seem to need a thicker fluid - and MTG would be indicated there. There are folks on this site that swear by Redline MT-90 in their transmissions.

Emil St-Hilaire - isn't 75W140 a little on the thick side? The 75W110 works like a champ for me - and I'm running Richmond 4.57 (1st gen) gears.

www.amsoil.com

If you buy more than $120 worth of product (about the retail cost of a case of Amsoil motor oil) at retail from Amsoil in a year- it's worth it to join their Preferred Customer Program. The $20 sign up fee allows you to buy the oil at dealer cost (you just don't get the dealer kickbacks from Amsoil). The $20 pays for itself quickly. The trick is to find someone else who lives nearby that wants to buy some Amsoil as well and split the cost of the program between the two of you. It saves on shipping as well - the bigger the order, the more you save on shipping.

God no!! hahaha maybe i didn't explain myself but i used the rp gear stuff for the diff and the synchromesh stuff in the tranny....

I bought a extra qt of Honda MTF and once i drained the Royal Purple stuff from the tranny i got my manual pump and pumped one whole qt of Honda MTF thru it let it drain out and then plugged it back up and filled with fresh Honda MTF
