Tranny noise
Hey guys, I changed my transmission fluid a few days ago with the GM synchromesh friction modified. I followed all the intstructions on the DIY thread but now the tranny is terribly noisy, especially around 45-55mph. The only difference between what I did and the DIY told me to do was that I used a lift, that shouldnt make a difference right? I didnt get all 2 quarts in there being that the car was level but I got probably around 1.7 in there if I had to guess, with all the fluid that overflowed. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks a lot!
Chris.

How is the shifting?
What are the full specs of the oil you put in?
You are absoluty sure the drain plug is tight (new washer too?) .. right?
The transmission overflowed out of the filler hole.. that means there is enough in it.

I got the part number from on here for the Fluid and I just took it to a local chevy dealer. It didnt say manual transmission fluid on there so I asked the parts guy to make sure and he said it was for a manual transmission. I guess Ill have to drive over there and find out exactly what he gave me since I threw away both bottles. I just hate driving the car with this noise but I have no choice. Oh and it wasnt making the noise until I changed the fluid. Thanks!
