Default Trouble with TS hood and comptech air box

Hi, I just recently installed a comptech sc, but now I'm having trouble closing my hood. I have a TS style carbon fiber hood from Seibon. The fit was perfect before the sc. Now the side of the hood seems to be hitting the carbon fiber air box. Has anyone else had this problem. Thanks in advance for any help.

Are you using the rain channels? If so, you may have to remove them.
If you are already using the hood without the rain channels, you'll have to dremel off some of the underside of the hood. A very few superchargered cars will need this done.

The majority of the Comptech airboxes (SC or even just the intake) have fitment issues. I have NEVER seen one that did not have interference issues. I have the stock hood.

I keep on thinking to myself... I spent $350 on a poorly engineered box. If someone does NOT have fitment issues... I will pay to hear your solution!

Obviously it does not hurt anything... it just scratches the carbon fiber lid making your blingbling look like ass.

Same problem here. Also everyone has the problem getting the hood prop into that slot on top of the lid.

I do have the rain channels still on. I'll try to take them off, but I'm not sure it will give me enough room. It seems like the box is just sitting too high up, or just too big. Do you think I'll will have the same problem if I go with a different hood design. I'm thinking that the TS style hood might be giving me more problems because the vents are inverted. What to you guys think?

Do you think I'll fair any better as far as clearance with the J's style hood, since the vents seem to be raised and not inverted. Thanks

I think you would... not definitely sure though.

If anything the J's hood does not have the inner covering that the stock hood does. My worst rubbing point is where the plastic snaps that hold the inner covering to the metal.

There is a downside to the J's hood though... I have also heard that the blower is right under the vent and it get's rained on and the belt cracks sooner because of the UV.
