Lower the bumpstops to ease closing of the hood. The bumpstops are on the chassis not on the hood, 2 on the upper rad support brace, other 2 near the shock towers. Just turn them with your fingers.

At this point, raise the rubber stoppers. If you adjust the latch back to its original position, then lower them.
