Uninstalling a Remote Starter
Hey all,
I need some help, or at least a push in the right direction. I bought my S and it just came with a key. SO I bought another key. And a keyfob so I could use the alarm and power door locks.
I go to use it, and the only function that works is the trunk release. Doh.
I figured out why - the previous owner had a remote starter. Evidence was the left-over antenna, deleted neutral safety switch, and well, lack of the damn factory key-fob.
So my question - how do I reverse this? I wanna be able to use the OEM keyfob. Maybe if someone can link me to a remote start install guide or installation manual, I can work my way backwards from there.
Thanks in advance!!

only wirecutting should have been starter motor wire and immobilizer data wire.
everything else should work properly.
and even then it should work as long as aftermarket is not alarmed.
on my 08 element my factory keyfob still works to control door lock/unlock
unless keyless entry is a option for 2001? i'm pretty sure it was factory standard?

Got it to work, basically just undid a bunch of riggory that was under my dash and matched up the wires. Worked right away. I'm pretty surprised since I have no idea what I'm doing when it comes to that kinda stuff.
Thanks for the quick response tho!
