unique odor, no dead animals, and steam....
Hello,
Today while making my commute home , after about a 20 miles I noticed a unique plastic, hair dryer like odor all of a sudden coming through my vents. I have never noticed this in the past, i was thinking it were the car in front of me. Anyhow the car is not driven hard, rarely ever even hits vtec. The temp guage was fine at 3 bars. I pulled in and popped the hood, There was a very small amount of steam coming from what looked to be the valve cover/exhuast manifold/battery area on the passenger side. I looked around and didn't see anything burning (bags or animals), there are no leaks. Not sure what the problem is, the car has been parked outdoors with some heavy rain the past two days, I did have the AC on, and my windows were fogging somewhat towards the dash, but i figured that was because the temp is 71 and rainy outdoors, while I had the cool AC running in the car.
anyhow is this something I should worry about when restarting the car? I did install a comptech intake about a month ago, but have had no problems and am not sure if that could have anything to do with it.
any ideas would be great. I know I'm probably being paranoid but I'd rather be safe than sorry.
thanks!!!!
