Default unique tranny problems

Just wanted a few opinions, when in 1st the car does not want to move like its binding, when in neutral the car wants to go as if in first gear, 2nd-6th gear are fine, when in reverse the car wants to move forward like in 1st gear.............WTF!!
It seems as if 1st and reverse are fighting each other.

If anyone has had this happen before, please chime in. This tranny was bought as a spare used and has brand new clutch installed.

My guess is debri or something is causing the syncro sleeve to hang up and won't let 1st and reverse seperate.

Thanks

Have you made sure your linkage is on properly? You said it was a "spare" tranny, was there anything wrong with it in the first place? Can be the forks inside that actually move. This happend to my brothers SRT4 when he broke a shifting fork.. But make sure the linkage underneath the car is correct..

Just a thought. when putting it in reverse are you pushing the knob down. sometimes when i put it in reverse i sometime catch 4th gear and the car will go forward. as your pushing the shifter toward reverse push the shift knob down.
