Some one said that the bad oil jets are on some of the 2002 model S2000? I thought they were only on the 00 and 01 versions. If this is the case How do I know if I have bad oil squirters. I have a 2002 but I dont really want to tear my bottom end off if I dont have to.

J, are you doing the clutch while everything is torn apart or has your clutch been replaced already?

If your new bottom end is not covered by Honda then I would look into building a new block (sleeved, forged rods and pistons) that can handle whatever FI abuse that you can throw at it. I know this isn't for everyone (especially if you are not FI before this happened), but I just figured I would throw it out there since the cost of a new short block from Honda must cost a pretty penny. You could always go with a used long block instead though. How much does a short block cost from Honda?
whats the point. the s2000 has forged rods, pistons and crank from the factory.

The early version of the oil jet bolts are found through mid-year 2002. There is really no such thing as a "bad" bolt. The updated bolts are needed for extended high-speed driving, like on the autobahn. They were not deemed necessary in the US, but it doesn't hurt to switch either (unless you screw up the installation). It's not hard to do and does not require you to drop the bottom end, just drop the oil pan. It takes about 3-4 hours to do a careful job in a home garage.

Sticking w/ AP1 ECU. Alot of folks are running this setup and have been with no issues.

I was told that the oil jet bolts are not necessary since the recall was only done in Europe being due to the oil used over there...
