Bumpity

I'm doing this now and have noticed that the new bolts - the holes are smaller than the ones coming out.

It almost looks like the hole could flow 1/2 as much (looking at the area of the hole, not the diameter). Anyone else noticed this?

I'm not doubting that they aren't an improvement - just curious.

Nothing wrong IMO with the hole being smaller; with all else being the same, that means the bolts will "squirt" more. Just like putting your thumb over a hose will cause the water to go further and with more force.

How important would you say this banjo bolt update is?.. I have a 2001 engine (bought used), but I'm not sure if the banjo bolts are changed or not. The engine has run just about 60 000 miles now.

Do you drive aggressively or ever track? Then how much cash do you have burning a hole in you pocket for a rebuild?

Does anyone have the part number for the new bolts? Or will I get the ones with 4 wholes anyway if I order at Honda?
