ya, you weren't the only one. A couple people did that and quaife got tired of all the people backing out so they made me make a lot more commitments.

I think you are confused about Comptech's policy. It is a core charge, they really aren't buying diff housings out right. They charge you money so that you return your stock unit. That unit is then reworked. This keeps their need for additional units low since they get back equal amount of what they sell.

looks like it's a no go on the diff. Even though I had confirmation e-mails from Quaife it'd be both the housing and LSD, they decided to chage their mind and wont do the housing. Only the LSD.

This sucks =/

So does that make the comptech the best bet? Also if we could get a custom driveshaft, custom axles, and mounting brackets, what else would we need to put a supra diff back there?

unless by some amazing coincidence the bolt holes line up, you'd have to fab up a custom mounting bracket. and you'd have to figure up a way to get the propshaft to bolt to it.

and then you'd still need all you mentioned below (custom axles and such)

i think it would be better to attempt an rx-7 differential mounting, since the s2k basically uses a 94-97 miata differential.

2JZ diff works but requires some fab work as mentioned. It is stronger than the Mazda diff. Also an 8.8 GM diff would work too. Both have already been done...

Dont give up on the Quaife scenario though its still not a done deal.

Quaife wants godly amounts of money per housing. That's the only way they'd do it now as per what they told me.

Any more info on using these other diffs?

Also is the 2004 diff a mazda unit as well?

well I dont know if its the same as Mazda, but the diffs are actually manufactured by Torsen for Honda.

As far as other diffs used in race car applicationd for the s2000, the only one I have seen or heard of is 8.8, 9 and 2JZ.

How much is ungodly....afterall if you blow 3 diffs how much does that cost.....basicly there may still be some people interested for a high quality bullet proof housing IF it can be shown that it's significantly better than Comptechs.
