Can't give word on the volume that will be left inside yet.

If they can get the diff to stay cool enough we wont even need to increase total oil volume. Definately something to look into.

The diff will be heavier than stock. That's pretty much a given. I'll weigh it in when it's all said and done.

some breaking news. The diff works both under accel and under decel. So it's more like a 1.5way or 2way diff than the stock 1way. The differential action is variable depending on traction so it's basically a 1thru2 way LSD. No set number value between 1 and 2

wow cool thanks for all the hard work and money spent. a new, stronger diff sounds really cool and a good idea.

is the oil volume going to be the same kane?

If the diff holds up to abuse, I can foresee a lot of excited drifters
It would be nice to increase the oil volume to dissipate this extra heat for these sort of activities too This may upset the car weight balance a bit but prob not that much for most of us since we pack a few exta pounds under the bonnet.
So for drag use increasing the oil volume would be fine, for extended cuircut use it may not help much. Increasing oil volume only really increases the ability of the system to absorb heat, it still has to dissapate the heat in the system. Adding oil volume really won't help with that. Changing materials and/or adding fins are all viable ways to increase the diff's heat sheading ability(if designed properly). One other option, used on some of the circuit S's I believe is to use specific diff cooler with a radiator/pumping system. This helps increase cooling ability but obviously adds complexity, etc....

^ the larger volume still help to buffer the heat for any given cooling mechanism. Both cooling fins and larger volume will help. You got to remember that the new material may not dissipate heat as well as the stock aluminium one, so every bit help.

kane .. LOL

hehe, im glad that someone has the flow and cares enough to get quaife involved. they make the sickest diffs there are. alot of my buds have been running these diffs on their aircooled drag cars for 10 plus years. so im not too worried, but if i had to ask for any one attribute, make sure that sucker can handle some serious shock loads. we need so see an s2k doin wheelies soon. i know it can happen, but its gonna need some good drivetrain stuff, and this is the first step. all it takes is an s2k to make a few good passes and sponsorship will be headed your way. once big backing is in the house, youll start seeing all new stouter gears for our trannies, and better ring and pinions available once this housing is out and proves to hold up, then proving the ring and pinion metal as the weak link. things can only get better from here. hehe, the s2ks drag days are comin. first s2k in the 9s on DRs wins.! hehe. lates dave

They've started. I've just gotta send more and more stuff to them so they can piece everything together. Right now I'm trying to get a complete differential unit from someone so I dont have to take mine apart incase my pistons do come in. They do all testing on their own machines in controlled environments. I'm gonna try and round up as many people as I can about 1.5 months before final production. I'll do something if there isn't 30 people so it still goes through.

I had the same plan that you are doing a long time ago, even talked to quaife about it, they send me an email that I need to give them a rear end and bla bla bla, but becuase I lived at the island, wasn't that easy to do that and now that i'm in the states for college, didn't have time to do it either. Well good luck man, cause are saving me a lot of time and patience just count me 1 for a full setup if it holds 600rwhp
