Default Urgent Help Needed with the Alternator.

We are half way through mapping my engine, Omex 700 & Jenvey ITB's.

The problem is we are struggling to wire the alternator in to work. There are four wires on the plug - can anyone tell me what goes where & what signal they need.

Please help - I am really stuck on this one.

BLK goes to main under hood fuse/relay box
WHT/GRN goes to ECM
BLK/YEL goes to ELD unit and under-dash fuse/relay box
WHT/BLU goes to charging system indicator light bulb

There is also a WHT/RED wire that comes from the ECU.

xviper thanks for the help - but can you expand?

White / Red - ECU Control wire to switch alternator off at full throttle? Does this give a 5v live in normal operation?

White / Blue - Light, these normally work on a reverse polarity system. i.e. send a live to a bulb then the ecu wire. The bulb light until the alternator starts charging. Does the honda work in the same manner?

Black / Yellow - ELD (Load detector?) - does this normally give out 5v under load? What is the single going to the alternator?

White / Green - no idea, can you expand?

-------------

What I am trying to do, is get a charge from the alternator at all times. At the minute, it is not giving an output so some if not all of the wires need an input or earth. Could really do with someone running a multimeter over the plug wires with the ignition on & then with the engine running and all the lights on (to put the alternator under load for the ELD).

Someone must have this information!!

Sorry, I'll have to leave your next bunch of questions to someone else. I was only reading the wiring diagram for you. I haven't a clue as to how to answer you.

The white/blue indicator wire does work using opposing voltage. This is an output signal wire, so you shouldn't have anything to change.

The Black/Yellow wire is from Fuse 6 and should have battery power.

It gets a bit complicated on the next 2 wires. White /Green is the control signal wire from the PCM. The White/Red is an input signal to the PCM. The Honda Service Manual does not go into detail what Voltages should be present when the PCM is controlling alternator output. I don't have a Meter here or I could check it. What Aftermarket PCM are you using? Is there any Tech support with them to control the alternator?

This is the problem.

The aftermarket ECU is a new product. It does offer alternator control. However, as we are about 3 weeks over due it is all a big rush at the minute.

We are planning of finishing the mapping Saturday afternoon. At the minute the battery is used until it has no life left. Then a portapower is used until that too is dead.

We really need to get the Honda wired in to work constantly. However I think, because we have no signal going to the ELD wire.

I am currently 300 miles away from the car, so cannot just try things until something works. Trying to get all the information before I travel down first thing Saturady.
