My Father In-Law had an 04. The shifting in his was a little more notchy than mine when cold and he had a problem with it slipping out of gear on its own from time to time. It could have just been that particular car though...
Here's a guess. The diff contains an atmosphere after the drain bolt is installed.
Since the system is closed, the spinning of the diff incorporates this atmosphere into the oil thus raising the oil volume and decreasing atmosphereic pressure inside the diff which would now be a partial vacuum if it were'nt for the vent.
Just a guess guys and my question would be.. Does oil flow more freely if outside a vacuum?

I just traded my ,01 on a ,06 this weekend. There are several outstanding changes. The throttle reponse towers over the older models and the overall ride seems to be a cross between the racer and the cruiser.
GREAT RIDE

here's a question for you. I have a '06 S2000 with 2.0 Engine (since we don't have 2.2l in Europe). Obviously, my car is MY06 since it has VSA and so on. But since the Engine is an F20 is it AP1 or AP2? Do all the "restrictions" on aftermarket mods (AEM v2 in particular) apply to our European '06 model?
