Default V-AFCII Greddy E-manage Possible?

I recently purchased an Apexi V-AFC II for my 2000 s2. Initially, when looking at fuel controllers/ecu modifications I was under the impression that only a stand alone unit (such as an AEM EMS) was capable of controlling timing. However, I soon found that the greddy E-manage supports such functions. In short my question is would it be possible to link a V-AFC II and the e-manage to control both fuel and timing (using the V-AFC strictly for fuel tuning and the E-manage strictly for timing)? Essentially im trying to find a way to get more tuning options without spending $1500 on a stand alone unit.

Furthermore, I am currently running a custom exhaust with no cat which as you might guess throws a check engine light for the secondary 02 sensor reading incorrectly. I checked the light with a OBDII diagnostic tool and found only one code which indicated "operating under minimmun efficiency threshold" however the heater signal was in good working order. I am wondering if such a code might be throwing my ECU off and casuing it to run at something less than maximun efficiency. Should i attempt to rectify this CEL problem in order to ensure proper operation of the ECU before i tune with my V-AFC? Or will it not matter? I am new to this forum so any help or comments would be much appreciated.

A "mechanical o2 simulator" will cure your CEL problem. You can search on this board how to make one (very simple and easy) or search eBay to buy one fairly cheaply.

Can't answer your VAFC2/Emanage question... but your CEL can be removed by installing this Mechanical O2 Simulator (what S2kracka was talking about).

However... I thought Emanage DID control timing and fuel???

The e-manage can control timing as well as fuel. It has very rough/crude adjustments though. Plus the timing adjustment can be off +/-1 full degree.

Using a VAFC and a E-manage would be redundant. The emanage can add fuel directly when using therinjector harness. Otherwise they function the same. Doubling the splices needed to run both piggybacks is asking for trouble.

The point of this would be to have the emanage to strictly control timing, and the vafc to strictly control fuel because i believe the vafc to be a better unit for fuel, vtec control, and data monitoring. Sort of a cheaper solution to spening $1500 on a stand alone ems.

The e-manage controls fueling, VTEC and data logs. It's beyond me why you would want 2 piggybacks that do the same thing, and want to use the e-manage to control timing when it doesn't do it accurately.

It's your car hack away if you want.
