Default Valve cover vent

I have my PCV line ran to a catch can before entering the intake manifold. Would it cause a problem to T the valve cover vent that goes to the intake tube into the line going into my catch can from the PCV? I would like to do this if it won't cause an issue, just to keep the vapors out of my intake. I don't want to use a breather filter due to the mess...

The point in using a PCV valve is not only used to maintain the pressure in the crankcase, but also to get rid of blowby gases by recycling it into the cylinders to burn them off. You need the PCV valve and a vacuum connected to it in order for it to work, which is why a breather isn't good for your engine. Leaving the blowby gasses in your crankcase causes your engine to build up sludge. It's up to you; a small amount of residue in your intake manifold or sludge in your crankcase.

But to answer your question: I don't know if you can really T it off with a catch can successfully, because what the PCV valve is taking out your engine are vapors/gases, it won't just drop into a catch can. You can probably use some sort of filter in between the valve and intake manifold, but you would have to change the filter often so that the PCV valve can work the way it's supposed to.

You guys misunderstood my post. I Do have my PCV valve still. The hose going from the PCV valve goes into a catch can, and leaves the catch can and goes to the intake mani. I'm talking about T'ing the vent on the front end of the valve cover into the line going from the PCV to the catch can. Will this harm anything? My goal is to have all the vapors that leave the valve cover to go through my catch can (which is filtered) so that very little of it makes it into the intake. I just want to make sure this doesn't cause a vacuum or pressure issue..

Oh, you want to vent your breather into the catch can as well? You want to t-into the PCV line?

I would add another inlet and outlet to catch can or buy another one, personally.
